The session will commence with theory and conclude with hands-on practicum; students will have the opportunity to explore various maneuvers using our arthroscopy simulator.

Learning and practicing surgical skills using an ophthalmic biomicroscope / 14:00-15:30 and 16:00-17:30

The workshop allows ophthalmology enthusiasts to practice working with a biomicroscope, gain insight into the basic skills of eye surgery, and improve their fine motor skills. Participants will work with ophthalmic microscope performing – corneal sutures, i/v injections and eye dissection, removal of a foreign body from an animal’s eye. Applying surgical sutures to animal skin.


Diagnostic and investigation methods in dermatovenerology / 14:00-15:30

Dermatovenerological diseases require thourough investigations for precise diagnosis. Dermatovenerologist has to choose appropriate investigation method which will not only help with diagnosis but also ease to make differntialdiagnosis which is extremely important to precisely determine illness and provide effective treatment. There are many methods that are actively used among dermatovenerologists almost every day, therefore it is very important to know these methods and understand when they are appropriate and of course to understand where to start. This workshop provide great opportunity to have a look and experience how dermatovenerologist examine their patients – from basic dermascopy to biopsies and modern technologies. Come and see how skin is examined and try by your own!


Respiratory support for a premature newborn in the delivery room / 14:00-15:30 and 16:00-17:30

What to do if a child is born with insufficient breathing? What kind of respiratory support is needed to provide? And what if the child ir born prematurely? During this workshop you will learn answers to all of these questions and have the opportunity to use this knowledge in practical simulation close to the real life situation. You will be provided with the script of clinical case and necessary equipment to give the best possible help to a premature newborn. Participants will work in pairs and learn not just about the mechanisms of respiratory support, but how to work as a team and divide responsibilities as well. After the simulation mentor will provide a feedback about your success in the current case scenario.

Workshop begins with a brief theoretical introduction, covering ultrasound basics and probe handling techniques following a hands-on abdominal scanning. The highlight of the workshop is the chance to participate in US-guided core biopsies and vascular punctures. Throughout the workshop, seasoned colleagues will be present to provide assistance, supervision, and valuable advice.


Postpartum sexual dysfunction and how to prevent it / 16:00-17:30

Women’s sexual health is a vital part of life at any age, and pregnancy and childbirth can be a turning point that can alter it. During the workshop participants will explore factors that can impact the development of postpartum sexual dysfunction and how to prevent it with accurate evaluation of perineal trauma and suitable suturing techniques. Participants will learn about preventative actions, see demontration and practise their suturing skills of different degrees of perineal tears.

Workshop for neurology and neurosurgery enthusiasts. During the workshop, it will be possible to perform a lumbar puncture on 3D printed mullages as well as to gain basic theoretical knowledge about the aspects of performing the procedure (indications, contraindications, puncture site detection etc.) and the interpretation of the results.

Once Upon a Paediatrician’s Visit / 10:00-11:30

Every child deserves a healthy life.

Participants will be divided into small groups where they will collaboratively solve clinical tasks. Within these groups, participants will assess patients’ conditions, make decisions regarding investigative tactics, prescribe therapy, and provide recommendations to parents in simulated situations commonly encountered during a pediatrician’s visit. Each team can earn points by successfully completing the tasks, and they will be rewarded at the end of the workshop based on their performance. Following the practical part, a brief theoretical session will outline the expected action plan for each simulated situation.

As you probably already know, patients with autoimmune disease have a tendency to develop another autoinflammatory process. In this workshop you have a chance to see it yourself – maybe pacients with rheumatoid arthritis have developed autoimmune thyroid disease and vice versa. You will have a chance to learn the basics of joint and thyroid ultrasound, see the changes of involved organs in the course of autoimmune diseases and try to do this diagnostic evaluation yourself on real patients with confirmed autoimmune diseases of joints and thyroid.
